The perfect marriage of old and new - the intertwining of the sacred traditions of Guinea, West Africa with the excitement and drama of the modern stage. Fiery, explosive, and passionate, the West African Drum and Dance experience is a unique glimpse into music's past, present, and future.
Sharing traditional and popular West African music and dance through performance and demonstration is an integral part of the authentic West African arts experience. Whether on stage at the largest hall or conducting themed celebrations for a single class, Ryan's work with master choreographers and artistic directors from Guineas most sought after Ballets, combined with his unique sense of arranging and staging, have combined to result in amazing productions wherever he has worked.
Ryan's residencies often conclude in joint faculty/student performances of traditional West African music and dance. Additionally, Ryan is available for new commissioned and composed works and collaborations with Percussion Ensembles, bands, orchestras, jazz bands, and choirs.
Whether part of a student/faculty collaboration, choreographing a drum and dance piece, arranging for an ensemble or conducting his own group, Ryan's fiery playing and charismatic presentations have made him a student and audience favorite around the world.
