Ryan Camara is an active member of MENC (The National Association for Music Education) and a highly acclaimed session presenter and keynote speaker. As both a professional performing artist and educator who has worked with students at nearly every age and level, Ryan brings a unique perspective to his session offerings and employs innovative processes with roots in both western, Orff and African teaching methods. Ryan advocates a holistic multiple-discipline approach to arts education utilizing culturally authentic drumming, dance, and language to cultivate essential music, movement and life skills while fostering a respect and appreciation for other cultures and inspiring a life-long connection to the arts.
Ryan's sessions strive to bring authentic music and dance alive with detailed histories and expert technical instruction combined with successful easy-to-follow tools for classroom integration and inspirational real life anecdotes.
Ryan has presented sessions at several state MENC conferences, including Maryland, California and the 2007 TMENC Southwest Symposium. In 2007 - 2008, Ryan will be presenting at state conferences in Wisconsin, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee at the National Association for Music Education 61st National Biennial In-Service Conference in Wisconsin in April.
