Drum and dance camps are a favorite of participants and instructors alike. Whether a weekend, a week or month, the opportunity to drum, dance and sing, while creating community in a beautiful location is what most of us dream about! Fortunately, that dream can be a reality for almost anyone at locations around the world. Ryan Camara has organized and instructed at West African Drum and Dance camps for over 10 years. "I love working at camps where we have the ability to have multiple classes a day for a sustained period of time," says Ryan. "When camps are well organized, participants don't have to worry about anything but playing, dancing and having a good time. That's when breakthroughs occur!!"
Ryan carefully builds programs for camps based on skill level and number of participants to ensure the most rewarding experience for everyone involved. Ryan always works with the dance instructor to ensure drum and dance classes are synchronized to provide a more thorough understanding of the music, dance and culture. In addition to the structured classes, Ryan's camps are famous for the late night jams and themed parties and events.
